About Van

Van was a man of many talents and became an expert at whatever he did. He was known for his compelling generosity, great sense of humor, adamant opinions and intense philosophical discussions. By trade, he was a precise, inventive machinist and part-time gold miner. He was an avid outdoors man, both a naturalist and survivalist. Van pursued every interest with intensity. He was also a multi-media artist, including sculpting and carving.

He was an accomplished musician who appreciated quality music of any genre. Van's enthusiasm, intelligence and artistic insight made him a great photographer. These combined talents enabled him to produce these unique images of 1980's classic concerts. His backstage access allowed him the opportunity to take these photos of legendary musicians from the front row as well as backstage. We hope you will enjoy these moments in time, as Van captured them, as our shared music history and the soundtrack to our lives in the 80's.
